Will I be 100% or will my injury cause a permanent weakness?
Complete recovery and returning you to your sport with the minimum risk of re-injury unfortunately cannot be guaranteed. Where a problem is treatable, the success of your recovery is dependent on the types of factors outlined above.

With appropriate treatment and rehabilitation, the injured area should be no more vulnerable to injury than any other part of your body. However, this is injury dependent, as there are some conditions which cannot be "healed".
With degeneration of a joint ("wear and tear"), treatment focuses on minimising the effects of the problem by, for example, strengthening the surrounding muscles. The actual wear and tear in that situation is irreversible. Your treatment provider should explain to you which category your injury falls into.
